Holly Cottage BH25

Located on the fringes of the New Forest, this charming brick-built house with natural slate tiles and a thatched section over the kitchen had a conservatory at the back. However, the conservatory was not living up to its potential, being outdated and struggling with extreme temperatures. To address these issues, the homeowners embarked on a project that would inspire any homeowner. They transformed the existing conservatory into a modern and functional Orangery made from hardwood with a hardwood and aluminium lantern, a testament to the potential of any space.

The project also included a deeper patio finished with high-quality sandstone slabs and a stone-built retaining wall. Our Southstreet Builders team sourced some natural Purbeck stone and contracted a local stone mason to build the wall, ensuring the use of durable and long-lasting materials. This emphasis on quality not only assures the homeowners of the project's longevity but also inspires confidence in the audience about the durability of our work.

The orangery was a product of meticulous planning and execution. It was precision designed, manufactured, delivered, and pre-painted in the client's chosen colour. The walls were carefully constructed to match the existing building, and the flat roof was expertly covered with a single-ply membrane. We paid attention to every detail, finishing the interior to a high standard and even customising the internal door to an Iroko hardwood door designed by the client and finished in a colour that matched their mantelpiece.

Despite the challenges of working with a unique design and the need for precise measurements, our team's problem-solving skills ensured a successful outcome. Our client was delighted with the final result, and by looking at the property photos, we are very proud of this successful completed project.
