Refurbishment
Beaulieu SO42
This property is a holiday let that is tucked between a secluded beach and the New Forest National Park. Our client approached Southstreet Builders to renovate and extend the property, which was formerly used as base during WWII by the Special Operations Executive, otherwise known as “Churchill’s Secret Army”.
Our client approached us to quote for the works to their property, which included constructing an extension to the original building, a complete internal refurbishment, external landscaping and construction of two outbuildings. Following a tender period, and a pre-construction specification discussion, we were awarded the contract.
The building was extended by approximately 4.5 meters to provide a much larger kitchen/dining room area with this beautiful feature, triple glazed screen.
The internal refurbishment included a complete reconfiguration of the internal layout. We built new internal stud walls to improve the layout and installed two new bathrooms including tiling & installation of sanitaryware.
We installed underfloor heating to the property and carried out a complete re-wire of the electrics. Internal decoration to the whole property was carried out by our team. We installed new, triple glazed casement windows and doors throughout the property.
Our expert carpenters installed this beautiful vertical cladding internally, as well as in the kitchen and flooring.
Externally we constructed two new patio areas to include steps to make the descent from the building to the ground level safer. Over one of these patios, we constructed a new porch in oak. The building was also fully decorated externally to give a beautiful appearance.
Two partial outbuildings were constructed as part of the works, to provide an outside seating & eating area and an outside bathtub! The outbuildings were constructed using reclaimed scaffold boards and a flat corrugated tin roof to give a rustic feel.
